Carolina DM Featured on Avenida Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City
In November, Carolina DM was selected to participate in an event that's taken over Mexico City's main Avenue. Mexicráneos is a cultural initiative that aims to celebrate Mexican culture by commissioning local artists to decorate giant skulls that are exhibited all around the capital and beyond.
These skulls have become a popular attraction this time of year. 2019 marks Mexicráneos' third year and its most successful yet, attracting millions of visitors. They've even expanded to the city of Lille in France. The timing of this exhibition is not a coincidence. These skulls are displayed around the celebrations of "Día de los Muertos" or Day of the Dead at the beginning of November. The goal is to express Mexican pride through art. The organization hopes to expand their reach to other cities around the world.
We're proud to announce that Carolina DM, creator of our Tierra Caliente Solanas is featured in this year's edition of Mexicráneos with a lovely design titled Raíz.
